Stencil, similarly to logo work, can be used to mask an area during the installation.
By using this technique, branding, lines or patterns can be incorporated into the venetian plaster process.
A wide array of materials can be used in conjunction with stencilling. In fact, just about any material can be used, it’s just a case of deciding on the desired area that you wish to remove with the stencil. The area that is masked, doesn’t receive the Venetian plaster. Calce Cruda is one of the most effective materials for stencilling, as it leaves a nice crisp edge.
