Dragged Venetian plaster

About:

Dragged

“Everything you can imagine is real”

-Picasso

Dragged finish has fairly similar effects as pitted finish, except the movement is in a linear motion.

This technique is normally produced with (yet not limited to) Marmorino Venetian Plaster.

The material, used in accordance with a specialist technique, can create a real linear, woven type of effect. It is then compressed down and finished with wax or a wash. The result is a distressed stone look. The artist can decide where to add more or less compression, sometimes allowing the dragged finish to follow a line or a profile of a room.

This is a great finish to use if you want to make a room appear larger or longer. The technique would be adapted towards horizontal, vertical or even a diagonal pattern.
